Illegal Drug Use Persists in Prisons
Despite efforts to keep illegal drugs out of prisons, states find that drug use persists. It seems that a combination of inmate schemes, visitor help, and staff corruption that brings drugs into large state prisons. Experts link drugs in prison to gang association and also say that most violence in prison is associated with drug use.
