Film Shows Inmates, Victims Healing Through Art

Cindy Burstein and Tony Heriza’s new documentary Concrete, Steel and Paint chronicles a mural art project involving prison inmates and victims of crime.  The subject of their painting is healing.  The film explores the concept of “restorative justice”, a rehabilitative process that promotes dialogue between victim and offender in an attempt to foster forgiveness and understanding.  The film is getting positive reviews from both victims advocacy groups and criminal justice groups.
